Richard Barrett Family

This family profile is part of the ICC Families Project. The project seeks to piece together the families that attended Immaculate Conception Church in Limestone Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.

Richard Barratt, son of Richard Barratt and Maria Cullen, was born circa 1830 in County Cork, Ireland. He married Helena “Ellen” Hart on 12 October 1856. Witnesses were Patrick Kelly and Brigitta Casy. Helen, daughter of Guilielm Hart and Maria Cochley, was born circa 1833 in County Cork, Ireland.[1]

The family lived in Porter Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania in 1860 and moved to Williamsport by 1870.[2] They moved to Muskegon, Muskegon County, Michigan by 1880. Richard worked at a saw mill.[3]

Children of Richard Barratt and Helena Hart, all born in Pennsylvania, were:

  1. William Barratt born 31 August 1857.[4]
  2. Richard Barrett born circa 1858.[5]
  3. James Barrett born circa 1861.[6]
  4. Margaret or Mary Barrett born circa 1863.[7]
  5. William Barrett born circa 1866.[8]
